On Saturday, September 27, 2025, community members from across Waimea gathered at Kanu o ka ʻĀina for the Maikaʻi Waimea: Our Future, Our Kuleana Summit — a day dedicated to inspiration, connection, and collective visioning for the future of our community.
The summit brought together ʻohana, community leaders, youth, practitioners, and neighbors to share manaʻo, strengthen relationships, and explore opportunities to build a thriving and resilient Waimea grounded in mālama ʻāina, kuleana, and collective well-being.
Throughout the day, participants engaged in inspirational talks, community-led workshops, and meaningful conversations centered on the future of Waimea. The gathering created space to uplift community voices, deepen understanding across generations and sectors, and identify shared hopes and priorities for the years ahead.
